For mounts on the plate, choose 5/16" stem diameter for hole diameters between 5/16" and 0.55", 3/8" stem diameter for hole diameters between 3/8" and 0.55", and 1/2" stem diameter for hole diameters between 1/2" and 3/4". For mounts on the threaded pipe, choose 5/16" stem diameter for internal threads of 0.27", 3/8" stem diameter for internal threads of 0.33", and 1/2" stem diameter for internal threads of 0.45".
